Welcome To Our Kitchen

We are so excited to welcome you into our kitchen. Come cook with us, hear our stories and join us in our quest to find the treasured recipes of a community.

We are six ordinary women who have now produced an extraordinary book. We have shared a journey of pleasures and challenges, ups and downs, rejections and triumphs, and we have not only honed our cooking skills, but learnt so much along the way about ourselves and our wonderful Jewish community.

This is a community whose culture has a love of food at its core, and a people who love to nurture their family and friends through cooking and sharing.

We came together to create a book that would serve not only as a snapshot of our cooking today, but also a historical record of where our recipes come from and what they mean to us. We have permanently recorded all those recipes that would otherwise be forgotten and, at worst, buried along with the older generation. And we now have a record for our children, and their children.

Maybe we can inspire you to find a friend, a sister or simply an acquaintance and together create your own club, gather and record recipes from your own family or culture, for your children and theirs, and for future generations everywhere.
